I love drawing and sketching, but I don’t do it as much as I used to (expect when my kids ask me to draw their favorite characters or whatever ideas pop into their heads). I recently went out and bought myself a bunch of new sketch pads and art supplies to help motivate me to do it more. I did feel a little rusty starting out, but it was still enjoyable.
Unfortunately, the days have been so gray and the lighting poor, so the printable is a bit washed out in these photos. You can see a preview of the actual colors below before downloading. It has an ivory/cream background (not white like it appears in the pictures here).
Since I originally drew this sketch for my kids, it only seemed fitting to display it in their bedroom. I cleared off the old wood peg board at the entrance of the room to set up something new and fresh. (I shared the last vignette from this space right after Christmas which you can see here.)
I printed out the image on a piece of sketchbook paper (sturdier than standard copy paper with a slight texture). You could also use cardstock. Then I cut off the white border around the edge and hung it from an old wooden hanger. Then I added a bundle of green wheat that I purchased at Joann’s last fall. Adding hints of green around the house is one of the best ways to bring the feeling of spring inside, but since it is too cold and snowy here to go out and get bits of nature, this works.
I added a delicate teacup that also had hints of green in the pattern. Above, I propped a found nest and tucked in a couple of small, pink eggs.
Next to the nest, is an open copy of Beatrix Potter’s The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies. I have always been enamored with the art of Beatrix Potter and have quite a collection.
This printable is simple and sweet for a child’s bedroom. I kept that in mind when I made the printable, thinking it could work all year in a nursery or little one’s room if it fit the theme or style.I made several different versions for you to download, so choose the one you like best, print it off and display! I purchased a laurel wreath graphic set from GraphikCliparts on Etsy and added it to my original sketch. The design shown in this vignette has it in pale brown, but I also did them in green and pink. Then one without a laurel wreath, since that is how I shared it on Instagram. Have your pick!
Please keep in mind that these are offered for PERSONAL USE ONLY. Not for reselling or offering as a download on your own site. Please do not edit or alter this design. Thank you for respecting the time and effort that goes into these projects! Watermarks do not appear on downloaded versions.

Till next time…
